Savvy Giving by Design™ is a non-profit, national network of professional interior designers whose mission is to provide comfort, support, and healing to families with a child facing a medical crisis by transforming the interior spaces of their homes at no cost to them.

Elijah and Elias are six-year-old twin brothers living in Castle Rock with their mother and younger brother, Everett. Born prematurely at just 28 weeks, the twins have faced extraordinary medical challenges since the very beginning of their lives.

Their journey has included brain and heart surgeries, oxygen support, G-tube feedings, and ongoing medical care. Today, both boys continue to navigate complex diagnoses including autism, ADHD, seizure disorders, and the need for daily medications and specialized care.

Despite everything they have endured, Elijah and Elias are joyful, curious children who show incredible resilience each day. Home is where they manage medical routines, learn new skills, and simply get to be kids.

Savvy Giving by Design Denver has the opportunity to transform three spaces in their home to better support their daily lives. This project will include two bedrooms and a playroom, thoughtfully designed for the boys.

how rooms inspire healing

Providing recovering children with a positive, stress-free home environment can make an incredible difference in their healing journey. According to long-established studies, access to a comforting space contributes to up to 30% of the healing process. (Robert Ulrich, Journal Science, 1984)

By supporting new room transformations, you’re giving children a space to just “be”, away from the demands of treatment, supporting them as they navigate their new lives both mentally and physically.
